Together, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal compete in a farewell match at the Laver Cup 2022.

For the final match of his illustrious career, Roger Federer will pair with longtime rival Rafael Nadal, the Laver Cup announced on Saturday.

The Laver Cup, which begins on Friday, will include Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer as Team Europe’s competitors. Following his retirement announcement last week, this will be Federer’s final competition.

The Laver Cup is a three-day competition in the style of the Ryder Cup that features Team Europe against Team World. It was created by Federer’s management business. The O2 Arena in London will host this edition.

Federer and Nadal will play the American duo of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe in the final match of the evening at London’s O2 Arena, according to the order of play announced by the tournament’s organisers for the first day of play.

“I’m not sure if I can handle it all but I’ll try,” said Federer

“It’s going to be a different kind of pressure to be part of this historic moment,” Nadal, who has shared an epic career-long rivalry with Federer, told reporters.

“I’m not sure if I can handle (all the emotions) but I will try,” Federer, whose presence had fans flocking to watch practice sessions on Thursday, said.
